Across Europe, more caring is needed than ever before, but the people who give that care, both family carers and long-term care workers, often don't get the support they deserve. The WELL CARE project was created to change that, by finding out what really helps carers and care workers feel well, supported and resilient.
To do this, the team looked closely at research and real life examples from across Europe, then worked with experts and local networks to find the best ones. This led to a list of 40 good practices from Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Sweden, each one a real example of something that is making a positive difference. Ten of these were then explored in more depth, through conversations with the people actually involved, to better understand what makes them work so well.
Two reports are available to download below.
The Final Report on 40 Good Practices in 5 European Countries and the Final Report on 10 In Depth Case Studies in 5 European Countries. Together, they offer a clear, practical and encouraging resource for anyone working to support carers and care workers.
